Treatment options
Surgery is not always there answer for a particular hand problem. We use surgery as a last resort. Many problems can be addressed non operatively and we're lucky enough to work with a number of skilled hand therapists. These are specially trained physiotherapists and occupational therapists who only look after hand conditions and support people through the recovery and rehabilitation process after hand surgery:-

Chloe Baxter at The One Hospital Ashford

If surgery is required it can usually be carried out under local anaesthesia or a brachial plexus block [the arm is made completely numb] or general anaesthetic if preferred or more suitable. Andrew and Chris can talk you though the option but the final decision will be made by you and your anaesthetic consultant. In almost all instances procedures are day case.
